Comets in the Night Sky

Comet SWAN LR_IG

A few images from our resident guide and photographer Daniele of two of the comets visible these past few weeks during our stargazing tours.

The tiny green dot in the first image is comet C/2025 R2 SWAN, which was not visible to the naked eye but could be captured with our cameras.

The other two images show the beauty of comet C/2025 A6 Lemmon as it made its closest approach to our planet, in a wide-angle view that shows how big it is in the sky, and using a telephoto lens to display its two tails, the yellowish dust tail and the blue ion tail. The comet was visible to the naked eye as a faint smudge (much like the Andromeda galaxy) but it showed really well even in photos taken with cellphones by our guests during our sunset and stargazing tours!
